The Network

The West Midlands Self Advocacy Network is a team of Self-Advocacy Groups from across the West Midlands area

We created the Network in 2019 to give people the opportunity to come together to share opinions, to campaign for positive changes and to create some real employment opportunities

We believe that one single voice can easily be ignored, but lots of voices together are stronger

Link Workers

Our Link Workers all have a learning disability and/or autism and are paid for by the Network with the help of the Lottery’s Community Fund

At least one Link Worker is employed at each of our Groups

Link Workers are supported to carry out research projects within their communities

As a Network, we decide what those projects should be, then we all work together to try to fix the issues
