Our Way is a charity based in Kidderminster, Worcestershire. We provide support and activities for adults and young people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
Our Way is a user lead organisation with a board of trustees which includes members of our self advocacy groups who are instrumental in the planning and evaluation of our work. We currently have 16 different projects which include
Self-advocacy groups – We facilitate self advocacy groups to meet and talk about issues of importance
Sports teams – We hold regular sports sessions which include football and Rugby
Housing project – Provides support to help people find suitable housing
Night club – This is a project for people with disabilities to experience a nightclub scene in a supportive place
Worcestershire Safe places Scheme – The safe place scheme gives people a short-term Safe place to go to if they are feeling unsafe when accessing their community
Weekly coffee shop – A time and place for people to meet friends and share interests
Stars in the Sky – We organise social events and activities for members to meet new friends and maintain relationships
Our projects aim to increase self advocacy skills and promote self-confidence providing opportunities for members to develop and have positive social networks and access to meaningful activities.
